Meet Our Staff
Rev. Al Potts
Al has been an ordained United Methodist Minsiter since 1983. He grew up in rural Georgia, graduated from Oglethorpe University, and later received his Corrosion Engineering Certification through the University of Alabama. For a number of years he worked in the field of speciality corrosion coatings and insulators building paper mills, off-shore drilling platforms, refineries ,and nuclear, hydro, and fossil fuel electric generating plants. He received his call to min istry while youth director in his home church in Mobile, Alabama. He and his wife, Irene, were married in 1973. Al received his Master of Divinity degree from Oral Roberts University and has extensive experienve in recovery ministries and family systems. Irene received her Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree from the University of Oklahoma and has served as a Licensed Local Pastor. Their son and his family live in Lawton, OK and have one child. Al enjoys deep sea and surf fishing and hunting. Irene is a State Representative for Celebrate Recovery, starting, training, and certifying Celebrate Recovery ministries. Irene greatly enjoys being grandmother to Millie.
Chase began working at First United Methodist Church in September of 2014 as our Guitarist. He and his wife Hailee have two sons, Sebastian and Kipton.
Sherry has been a member of First United Methodist Church her whole life. She began working as the church secretary in August of 1998. She is married to David Gean.
Nursery Attendant & Little Disciples Preschool Teacher
Judy has a long history of loving and caring for children. She and her husband Bruce moved to Sallisaw in 1994. In 1996 she began working as our Nursery Attendant. In the Fall of 2012 she began working as our Little Disciples Preschool teacher. Judy and Bruce have 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Erin joined the Nursery staff at First United Methodist Church in 2016. She is dedicated in caring for all of our children. She has a beautiful daughter named Sarah.
